It is precisely this need that gave rise to SUNLOCK:
the solution developed by Elettra for the emergency disconnection of DC photovoltaic strings, designed to simplify their management.

SUNLOCK is an emergency disconnection system with motorised reset capability that allows photovoltaic strings to be isolated in the event of an emergency, maintenance or critical conditions, whilst ensuring that the circuit can be restored remotely, without the need for manual intervention.
The solution complies with the DCPREV 14030 Fire Service regulations, providing a practical solution to fire safety requirements in photovoltaic systems.

SUNLOCK uses DC motorised disconnect switches combined with a control board, which allow the strings to be disconnected when the release button is pressed or in the event of overheating above 100°C.



How does SUNLOCK work?

The system uses a power-fail opening mechanism driven by a motorised energy-storage unit, which allows the gate to be released even in the event of a power cut and ensures that it can subsequently be closed remotely without the need for manual intervention.

The open/closed status of the disconnectors can be monitored remotely via signal contacts. Remote motorised reset ensures operational continuity, making SUNLOCK suitable for residential and industrial installations, both on rooftops and in the field, where access is difficult and manual intervention would require specialist operators.
