Elettra for Padova Mixed Ability Rugby: A Collaboration that Inspires and Unites
The 7th of October was a special evening for Elettra, marking the official start of its partnership with Padova Mixed Ability Rugby, a unique organisation that promotes inclusion through sport.
What is Mixed Ability Rugby? Mixed ability rugby is an innovation in the sporting world, offering an inclusive sport that brings together athletes with and without disabilities, without altering the traditional rules of rugby. The aim is to break down social and physical barriers, creating an environment where every individual, regardless of their ability, can feel welcome and an integral part of the team. This sport encourages cooperation, mutual respect and empowerment, providing a powerful example of how sport can be a bridge to a more equitable society.
Our Support and the Symbolism of Sponsorship.
Elettra has created and donated customised sweatshirts to the team to show its concrete support for this extraordinary initiative. Each sweatshirt is a symbol of belonging and collective identity, designed to make every player feel part of a close-knit and valued group. The sweatshirts were handed out one by one by our colleagues, making this gesture even more meaningful.
We had the opportunity to watch and participate in a training session led by Fabio Faggiotto, coach of Padova Mixed Ability Rugby and our collaborator in Elettra. It was exciting to experience first-hand the dedication, strength and enthusiasm of the players, an experience that strengthened our commitment to inclusion. The evening ended with a convivial dinner in the Rugby Patavium clubhouse, a moment of sharing and friendship that sealed this new collaboration.
