AEG: Pioneers of Electricity since 1883
Founded in 1883 in Berlin by Emil Rathenau, AEG (Allgemeine Elektricitäts-Gesellschaft) immediately demonstrated its innovative vision, quickly becoming a leader in the electrical industry.
Engineer Rathenau obtained a patent for the Edison system of incandescent lamps for Germany, thereby initiating an era of technological change that shaped the future of electrification in Europe and around the world.
Innovation and Continuous Growth
The company has been a driving force behind technological development in many sectors, from electricity to transport.
Even in the early years, AEG diversified its production by including electric motors and, later, low, medium and high voltage transformers and switches.
This ability in innovating and anticipating market needs has allowed AEG to remain at the forefront and become a pioneer in key sectors such as power transmission and industrial electromechanics.

Design That Makes History
Beyond its technical significance, AEG was also a pioneer in industrial design.
In the 1920’s, through collaboration with the famous architect Peter Behrens, the company transformed electrical products into functional and modern design items.
This combination of aesthetics and technology led to the concept of industrial design, a revolutionary approach that changed the way products are conceived and manufactured to this day.
Innovation and Global Leadership
AEG’s low-voltage products include a complete range of equipments, from circuit breakers and contactors to surge protection systems.
Each component is designed for maximum efficiency, safety and durability, allowing users to protect their infrastructure and optimise energy consumption.
Since 1883, AEG has been committed in providing the best solutions for this sector, and we, as Elettra, authorised distributor throughout Italy, today are still committed in sharing the success of this revolutionary company.
